On being reborn …
If I were ever to be reborn, I wouldn't want to be born a queen, princess, or some exotic creature, but I would still like to be reborn a woman, a
better version of myself, and into a peace-loving world. I would like to be surrounded by more of the
familiarity and comfort I enjoyed in my previous birth.
1. I would like to be born to the same parents because I would know what to expect - no -no-nonsense but kind parents who raised my brother and me to be good human beings.
2. I would like to live in a larger house in the same small town that I grew up in (we lived in a 1 bhk rented
cottage) with the same huge compound in the front and the little dirt lane
behind the cottage, in which so many precious memories were created. Kabbadi and
other boisterous games with the same set of friends would still be what I'd very much want.
A few new friends would also be welcome.
I cannot ride a bicycle or drive a car. I'd hope to accomplish both of these in my new life.
3. Going to the same school would be nice, and I would love to be taught by a couple of my favourite teachers. However, I wouldn’t want to study math and science again, but I would want to be bold, having no stage fright and participating in as many extracurricular activities as possible. I have so many fond memories of school lunch breaks when I sat with my gang under shady trees, eating home-cooked wholesome food, engaging in lively banter, shielding the food from kites or cheels, playing and generally having a good time.
4. I have some wonderful memories of my college life. Yes, I would want to rejoin the same college and hang out with the same group but I wouldn’t touch commerce with a barge pole. I’d
rather study literature.
5. I loved being a teacher and would want to continue being one in my
new life. Little children are my favourite people, and I love teaching them. I
would like my job back, teaching grades 1 and 3. I didn't enjoy the higher
grades. It has always been and will always be about the little people.
6. Coming to earth the second time, I would want to be married to the
same man, argue a bit less, and live happily ever after.
7. I'd wish the same sons were born to me, quirky, chalk and cheese, but I also wish that I’d be a better mom and
8. I wish that I’d never suffer from motion sickness and travel to
lands far and wide and ride fearlessly on escalators.
9. I’d wish to have the greenest thumb ever and flaunt the most beautiful garden and do my mom proud.
How would you like to be reborn?
