What if you woke up one fine day, unable to remember who you are, where you are, or the people in your life?  


When investigative journalist Avantika Krishnan wakes up in a hospital room, she cannot remember how she got there or anything about the three men who claim to be connected to her because she has been diagnosed with retrograde amnesia.

Adding to her confusion, there is also the strange phenomenon of women who enroll in a certain weight-loss programme and subsequently succumb to acute appendicitis. This medical mystery unfolds alongside Avantika’s crisis. Are the two connected?

What follows is the gutsy and resilient Avantika’s journey to unearth the truth about the mysterious appendicitis and piece together her own life with no memory of her past.

As the tale unfolds, the suspense builds up, and readers are treated to a psychological cum medical thriller with a romantic triangle thrown in. The thriller elements keep the pace brisk, while the romantic drama adds another layer to the story.

Avantika doesn’t have a clue about who she is. The loss of memory robs her of her identity, but she follows the clues that come her way to reconnect with her past and also solve the mystery of the unexplained illness.


And then there are the three men in her life:

Marvin loves Avantika, but despite his love being unrequited, he remains a loyal and caring friend to Avantika.

Shankar is Avantika’s former lover, and although their relationship has ended, they still share a deep bond.  

And there is Ravi, Avantika’s estranged and desperate husband, who continues to be obsessed with her and tries to win her back.


Lavanya Krishnamurthy leaves a trail of clues while maintaining the suspense because she doesn't give the answers too quickly. However, at times the story feels a little too stretched, but on the whole, 194 pages of mystery, romance, and suspense make Forget Me Not an enjoyable and engaging read for lovers of thrillers and medical mysteries.

A stitch in time and being fit and fine.

  A nasty freakish fall in my kitchen does damage to the palm of my left hand, which is also my working hand and has me literally in stitches this New Year. Praise God, it could have been worse. My head is intact and I do not have to contend with any broken bones.  There are all these diets flying around, I have tried a couple, succeeded and failed and tried again. Sattu: A Superfood.

  Sattu: A Superfood.     I was introduced to Sattu at a healthcare programme and have grown fond of it. I try and incorporate the food into my diet in various ways. Popular in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar Uttarakhand, and even some parts of Pakistan Sattu is a protein-rich, plant-based flour made from dry-roasted Bengal gram or chickpeas. This recently recognized superfood is said to have originated in Tibet where it is called TSampa.It is also available in different forms, such as wheat, barley or Jowar. Sattu ki Kadi  owar.  Sattu is especially beneficial during the summer because of its cooling properties. Sattu is unique to Bihari cuisine and Litti Choka remains a popular dish even among non-Biharis.
